Beekeeping is both subjective and objective meaning it is based on various facts as well as opinion. If you choose to become a beekeeper, you will have to maintain certain practices based on factual needs of your bees. How you implement those practices will likely be driven by opinions you develop, or those provided by fellow beekeepers. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of variables involved in beekeeping. You may decide that you want to be a hobby beekeeper to start with, and then advance to a more commercial approach after you gain more experience. Some consider beekeeping a hobby, a business, or an art. Regardless of how you step into the world of bees, just remember that bees have been doing their thing for tens of thousands of years. You can’t reinvent the wheel, but you can add a couple of personal spokes to it.
