Hello All,

Elizabeth (Betsy) Rossi, from the Northern Kentucky Beekeepers Association and the Kentucky State Beekeepers Association Board of Directors has reached out to ask for our help with something exciting. Last year, Kentucky officially approved our new honey bee specialty license plate.

The Protect Kentucky Bees license plate is an official Kentucky specialty license plate featuring a honey bee. A portion of the plate fee directly supports the Kentucky State Beekeepers Association (KSBA) and its work protecting bees and pollinators across the Commonwealth.

See below for information about the license plate and how you can get one.

You might be wondering—why does this matter? For every honey bee license plate sold, the Kentucky State Beekeepers Association receives $10. With help from clubs across the state, we can make a massive impact!

These funds are going right back to supporting Kentucky beekeepers by helping us:

  • Offer high-quality education and learning opportunities statewide
  • Support bee health and management initiatives
  • Advocate for beekeepers at the state level – Like last year’s increase to honey house limits and this year’s ongoing effort to achieve a sales tax exemption for beekeepers!

This is an easy way for beekeepers and supporters to show their pride and support the work being done for our beekeeping community.

Thank you and feel free to reach out to Elizabeth Rossi at 859-308-0858 if you have any questions!
